The Hindu wedding are adorned with a series of rituals and traditions observed in conformity to Vedic scriptures and Kanyadaan (meaning the gift of a girl) is one such custom holding a great significance.
After the Saat Pheras i.e. seven vows, the Kanyadaan ritual is carried out. As according to this Indian Wedding custom, the father of the Bride gives her right hand into the groom's right hand making bride a part of the groom’s family whereas the mother of the Bride pours water on the palms of both the Bride as well as the Groom. The Kanyadaan in Hindus is considered very sacred ritual and dutiful act.
